I've gone and bought this crappy CX500, with the intention of making something that looks a bit better! Hopefully the maggot won't turn into a fly!

Not only is this my first attempt at a blog! but it's also my first attempt at creating a"custom" motorcycle!! I don't really know what I'm doing in either case, so we'll see how it goes.

You'll have to look at the photo below to see why I chose the 'maggot'!.........see something good can be found in everything!!

Some engine progress

Finally managed to get back to the shed & do a few more bits & bobs!

Replacement cam & oil pump chains arrived....


It says on the box not to install by yourself!! Bloody hell there 'aint no one else going to do it!! anyway it was suprisingly straight forward to do. Both were fitted within a couple of hours. Now waiting for a set of oil seals then I can finished re-assembling the motor.

Have decided to paint the engine cases now, the wired finish is just too patchy looking. I bought a tin of Hi-temp 'metallic black' engine paint which should look quite nice, more understated than the original bright silver, & a change from all black.

    Cheers mate, it's just a question of plodding through all the little jobs, then eventually you start to see bigger changes I guess>
